MEN'S DAY OAKTON FACULTY

Gregory Baldauf, Ph.D., is a professor of student development who teaches the men’s course, Moving Towards Conscious Manhood: Being a Man at the Millennium.

Paul Johnson, M.S., is an assistant professor of student development. Paul is a former student of Oakton’s Men’s Program, a Men’s Day committee member and the announced Men’s Day co-chair for 2005.

Michael Maloney, Ph.D., has been counseling and teaching psychology at Oakton since 1972. He also has a private counseling practice in Skokie, Illinois.

Richard Reid, M.A., Pastoral Studies, is the founder of Men of Tomorrow, a men’s support group, and facilitator of Oakton’s Men’s Support Group.

Steven Schada, M.S.T., M.A., is a professor of sociology and the founder and coordinator of Oakton’s Men’s Program, which began in 1982.

Tom Dix is a Chicago high school science teacher, and for the last five years has been a stepparent to two children.

Jack Dohr, M.A., teaches anger and pain management at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center.

David Fireman, LCSW, is a psychotherapist at the Center for Grief Recovery.

Don Flerlage has been doing men’s work through Oakton’s Men’s Psychology courses for more than a decade. He has been studying Inka shamanism for seven years.

John Gobby, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with children and adolescents.

Raymond Reed Hardy, Ph.D., is an associate professor of psychology who has been teaching courses on the psychology of personal growth for nearly three decades.

Chuck Heinsinger is the former executive director of Mankind Project International.

William Janssens, MSW/LSW/CADC, is the manager of a residential treatment center for men, a trained mediator, and longtime volunteer staff member at Oakton.

Paul Kachoris, M.D., is a child/adolescent/adult psychiatrist and former Men’s Day keynote speaker. He works with men and their development both in his private practice and through the Victories of the Heart weekend experience for men.

Joseph Kilikevice, MFA, is the co-founding director of Male Spirit Retreats, in which ancient songs and dances bring men together in a sacred ritual space. He has journeyed with men using this experiential retreat model since 1986.

Dick Levon is a psychotherapist in private practice and a former Victories of the Heart leader. He also is working on a One Heart program for adolescents.

Alan Levin is a labor and employment lawyer involved with men’s work through Victories of the Heart.

Gary McCabe, MSW, LCSW, a psychotherapist for more than 20 years, has taught the principles of “Making Peace With Your Inner Teenager” to hundreds of clients. He teaches at various Chicago colleges and is active in the New Warrior community.

Bill Martin, MSW, is an active Victories of the Heart group leader.

Chuck Marcus is a veteran leader of men’s workshops and presentations.

Phil Metres, Jr., Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and body psychotherapist in private practice for 27 years. He is a Fellow in the Midwest Institute for Somatic Psychotherapy, and a daily practitioner of contemplative prayer.

Andy Mitran is a professional music producer, and the former “Professor Andy” on WGN-TV’s Bozo Show.

Richard Popp is an Upledger Certified CranioSacral Therapist, nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork, and a certified energy healing instructor.

George Sachs is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, and is currently enrolled in a clinical psychology doctoral program at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.

Ken Schultz has been facilitating Victories of the Heart weekends for more than a decade.

Gary Shunk, MSW, is a Chicago psychotherapist and spiritual director.

John Statza is a body worker who has participated in Oakton’s Men’s Program for 10 years.

Rick Tivers, LCSW, is a leader in assisting men work through shame, rage, and other shadow feelings. He has a private practice in psychotherapy and consulting.

Steven Visco is a graduate of a three-year program in body-centered awareness. He also has been very involved in men’s work through Oakton and the ManKind Project.

Steven Wallman, LCSW, has both professional and personal experience in the value of providing sustained support for clients dealing with difficult issues of divorce.
