Give Your Career a Boost at Oakton
In a tough economic climate, learn how to find a job or enhance your professional skills through courses offered through Oakton Community College's Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL).Secrets of the Hidden Job Market (BUB E21-01, Touch-Tone 03138) uncovers new employment opportunities by learning how to navigate the concealed job market. This course targets your career aspirations and provides tips on how to self-manage your career. The two-session course meets from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays starting Oct. 13 at Niles North High School, 9800 N. Lawler Ave., Skokie. The course fee is $50.
Learn how to present yourself more positively in Calling All Women - Market Yourselves for Success (BUB E15-01, Touch-Tone 01750). This course examines social differences between men and women, and explores gender attitudes and behaviors that influence communication. The two-session course meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays starting Oct. 15 at Maine West High School, 1755 S. Wolf Road, Des Plaines. The course fee is $50.
Explore high-tech career opportunities by enrolling in Computer Career Exploration for Women (BUB E16-01, Touch-Tone 03159). The two-session course meets Wednesdays beginning Oct. 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Maine West High School. The course fee is $50.
Other Career Corner classes offered include: Designing Your Career Path - Personal Assessment (BUB E20-01, Touch-Tone 03137); Job Search Strategies (BUS E15-01, Touch- Tone 03163); and Mom-Trepeneurs (BUB E19-01, Touch-Tone 03136).
Students who have registered for ALL classes within the last five years, or for a credit course in the last three years, may register by using the Touch-Tone system at 847-635-1616 or via fax at 847-635-1448.
