offered through the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community
College. All featured courses start at the end of February.
Franchising
Opportunities (BUB E28-01) provides students with the information
necessary to start a franchise business. Course fee includes all supplementary
materials. One-week class meets 7 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Glenbrook
South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., Glenview. Course fee is $19.
Office
Design for Success (HEC S60-01) demonstrates simple techniques
to create a more balanced work environment. One-week course meets
7 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Glenbrook South High School. Course
fee is $29.
Watercolor
Pencil Art in a Flash (ART C93-01) teaches how to mix and
layer colors, produce washes, and combine with other media to create
new and interesting effects. One-week session meets 7 - 9:30 p.m.,
Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Prairie View Community Center, 6834 Dempster
St., Morton Grove. Course fee is $39.
Basic
Pastry Cooking (HEC C24-01) shows the best techniques for
working with various types of dough. Four-week course meets 7 - 9
p.m., Wednesdays, starting Feb. 22, at Niles North High School, 9800
Lawler Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $85.
