Increase
your computer knowledge by enrolling in classes offered through the
Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College. All featured
courses meet at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.
Introduction
to PC and Windows (DPR A51-01) is designed for novices who want
to learn how computers process information, and how to customize a
computer desktop. Seven-week class meets Sundays, 12 - 3:15 p.m.,
starting Aug 21. Course fee is $220.
Building
a Web Page (CPT A04-01) provides the knowledge to create customized
and interactive Web pages. Twelve-week course meets 6:30 - 10 p.m.,
Mondays, starting Aug. 22. Course fee is $232.
Introduction
to MS Word (DPR A83-01) familiarizes students with the popular
word processing software program for personal and business use. Five-week
course meets Wednesdays, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., starting Aug. 24. Course
fee is $160.
PowerPoint (DPR A70-01) teaches students how to create on-screen
presentations using animation, video, and other special effects. Five-week
class meets Sundays, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., starting Aug. 28. Course fee
is $160.
