Get Cooking at Oakton Community College

Learn new recipes by enrolling in cooking classes offered by the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College. All featured cooking classes are hosted by Dave Esau, chef and owner of Dave's Specialty Foods in Mount Prospect, and meet at Maine East High School, 2601 Dempster St., Park Ridge.

Spanish Tapas (HEC B23-01) shows how to create potato pancakes, grilled mussels, cured ham, chili tarts, and other mouth-watering snacks. One-week course meets 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, March 10. Course fee is $35.

Ways with Vegetables (HEC B24-01) offers techniques for turning vegetables into delectable dishes. One-week course meets 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, March 24. Course fee is $35.

Fish Fish Fish (HEC B25-01) demonstrates new ways to prepare seafood. One-week course meets 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, April 7. Course fee is $35.
