Symphonic
Repertoire (MUS E37-01) concentrates on classical standards
by Brahms, Beethoven, Mahler, and Bruckner. Enjoy live performances
by local groups including the Evanston Symphony, Skokie Valley Symphony,
Ars Viva, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Four-week course meets
7 - 9 p.m., Wednesdays, starting Jan. 11, 2006, at Oakton's Ray Hartstein
Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln, Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $80.
Personal
Training Certification (PED C03-01) prepares students to
become a certified personal trainer. This nationally recognized program
combines lecture with practical skills, and is designed for those
seeking a dynamic new career in fitness. Topics include anatomy, exercise,
physiology, injuries, and health screening. Six-week course meets
9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sundays, starting Jan. 22, 2006, at Oakton's Des
Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Course fee is $579.
