The
Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College offers
an assortment of classes this spring. Featured courses meet at various
locations.
Tai
Chi for Arthritis (PED C05-04) uses gentle, fluid movements
to promote muscular strength, joint flexibility, and overall physical
stamina. Course is recommended by the Arthritis Foundation of America.
Six-week course meets 10 - 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, starting April 2,
at the Prairie View Community Center, 6834 Dempster St., Morton Grove.
Course is $56.
Travel
Photography Seminar (ART D19-01) provides tips from an avid
travel photographer on how to get the most out of your vacation and
holiday photos. Session meets 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, April 3, at the
Prairie View Community Center. Course fee is $25.
Windows
Applications (Windows XP) (DPR A23-05) teaches desktop customization,
shortcuts, and basic Word applications. Six-week course meets 3 -
5:30 p.m., Thursday, starting April 3, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus,
1600 E. Golf Road. Course fee is $150.
For
Men Only: How to Cook (HEC E07-02) demonstrates how to easily
prepare tasty meals the family will love! Three-week course meets
5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Thursday, starting April 3, at the North Shore Senior
Center, 161 Northfield Road, Northfield. Course fee is $160.
Other
available courses include: Symphonic Repertoire (MUS E37-03), Beginning
Hatha Yoga (PED S10-02), and Co-ed Volleyball (PED S52-03).
