Oakton Alliance Offers Single-Session Courses
Enroll in single-session courses offered by the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College.
Introduction to Wind Power (SCI E32-31) considers renewable wind energy and whether it might be an option for your home, business, or community. Class meets 6:30 – 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, at Oakton’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave. Course fee is $49.
Investment Basics (FIN E30-31) covers various types of investments and provides an objective process for determining asset allocation. Course meets 7 – 9 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Course fee is $22.
Papa Haydn: A Celebration for the Ages (MUS C29-31) casts a critical ear toward the composer who produced 104 symphonies and 80 string quartets. Course meets 7 – 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, at Glencoe Park District, 999 Green Bay Road, Glencoe. Course fee is $24.
Tutorial of Family Tree Maker 2008 Software: A Seminar (HIS C33-01) shows how a popular database program can help you explore your family history. The instructor is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists. A $10 textbook is required. Course meets 6:45 – 9:15 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave., Evanston. Course fee is $22.
