Discover Your Own Jewelry Treasures at Oakton
Are you curious about the vintage costume jewelry in your collection? Would you like to discover the mystery behind those prized pieces? The Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College offers a one-night class, Glitz and Glamour: Collecting Vintage Costume Jewelry, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 13. Class will be held in the lower level of the Des Plaines campus library. Course fee is $25.
Join avid collectors Judith Mayzel and Linda Mockenhaupt as they help jewelry enthusiasts sort through their collections. The instructors will present helpful hints, including Web sites and other resources, to help participants develop a sharper eye. Bring at least one favorite costume jewelry piece to share, as well as a loupe or magnifying glass.
Students who have registered for continuing education classes within the last five years, or for a credit course in the last three years, may register by using the Touch-Tone system at 847-635-1616 or by fax at 847-635-1448.
