Register Now for Oakton Alliance Classes
Late Fall Classes Feature Japanese Origami, Divorce, Wall Street


A wide variety of creative, do-it-yourself, and self-improvement courses are being offered through the Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL) at Oakton Community College. Register now for courses offered at 19 convenient locations.

Learn the ancient art of folding paper to create beautiful holiday ornaments. Japanese Christmas Origami (ART C39-01, Touch-Tone 01948) meets four Tuesday nights, 7 to 9 p.m., starting Oct. 21 at Glenbrook South High School, 4000 Lake Street, Northbrook. Course fee is $69, with a $10 materials fee payable to the instructor at the first class session.

Understanding Wall Street (FIN E06-01, Touch-Tone 01856) offers help for the novice investor, including how to "read" stock news and annual reports. Classes meet three consecutive Thursday nights, 7 to 9 p.m., starting Nov. 6 at Glenbrook South. Course fee is $69.

Property division, spousal rights, child issues, and attorney fees are all covered in Divorce? Know Your Rights (PSY C13-02, Touch-Tone 03144). Class meets 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3.at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Avenue, Skokie. Course fee is $35.

Make your "dream day" come true with the help of practical advice and insider secrets revealed in Beautiful Bride, Perfect Wedding (REC E43-01, Touch-Tone 03212). This newly-offered class meets 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Dec. 2 and 9 at Niles West High School, Oakton Street and the Edens Expressway, Skokie. Course fee is $25.

Midlife Crisis . . . Or Opportunity? (PSY C17-02, Touch-Tone 03146) is for anyone who has started to think there is more to life than the pursuit of material success. Discover your own path and purpose, and reflect more deeply on "life's important questions." This new class meets Monday evenings, 7 - 9 p.m., Nov. 3 and 10, at Niles North. Course fee is $45.

Students who have registered for Oakton classes within the last five years and have a Social Security number on file may register using the Touch-Tone system by dialing 847-635-1616 or by fax at 847-635-1448. Both methods require payment with a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover). Students also may register in person at several locations.
