Should an adoption be open or closed? Are adoptive parents better off making arrangements privately, or through an agency? Learn the answers to these and other questions in a new, single-session workshop designed for prospective adoptive parents. Facilitated by Judy Stigger, a licensed social worker with more than 20 years of experience, Adoption Options (PSY C16, Touch-Tone 02990) meets Monday, Sept. 29, from 7 to 10 p.m., at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Avenue, Skokie. The course fee is $20.
Two new classes focus on helping participants make changes to their physical appearance. Reinventing Your Look - Beauty Makeover Essentials (HEC S97, Touch-Tone 04976) meets Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ray Hartstein Campus in Skokie. Saving Face (And Body) With Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Care (HEA E73, Touch-Tone 04928) features Dr. Anthony Terrasse, chair of Lake Forest Hospital's surgery department, discussing botox, microdermabrasion, and other techniques for maintaining a youthful and refreshed appearance. Class meets Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Niles North High School in Skokie. The fee for each of these courses is $25.
Other new courses include Beautiful Bride, Perfect Wedding (REC E43), Write Your Family History (HIS E94), Natural Solutions for Allergies and Sinusitus (HEA E71), and Your Overweight Child - How to Help (HEA E76).
