Homeland
Security Begins at Home (TEC E69-01) provides an overview
of the federal agency established in 2002 to fight terrorism. One-week
session meets 7 - 8:30 p.m., Monday, March 19, at Maine West High
School, 1755 S. Wolf Road, Des Plaines. Course fee is $10.
Buddhist
Views on Happiness (PHL E59-01) examines the teachings of
two current influential Buddhist teachers, the Dalai Lama and Thich
Nhat Hanh. Four-week course meets Tuesdays, 7 - 8:30 p.m., starting
March 20, at the North Shore Senior Center, 161 Northfield Road, Northfield.
Course fee is $72.
Chinese
Medicinal Diet (HEC E44-01) examines the benefits of Chinese
herb and food therapy believed to fight disease and prolong life.
One-week session meets 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, at Oakton's
Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Course fee is $29.
Bridge
Potpourri (REC S04-02) provides instruction by a bronze life
master. Eight-week course meets 7 - 9 p.m., Tuesdays, starting March
20, at the Morton Grove Park District Prairie View Center, 6834 Dempster
St., Morton Grove. Course fee is $69.
