Oakton Alliance Offers Summer Courses
Enroll in a variety of summer courses offered by the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College.
Cake Decorating (HEC E26-32) provides techniques to create edible works of art. Single-session course meets 7 – 9 p.m., Thursday, July 10, at Dream Cakes, 3455 W. Dempster St., Skokie. Course is $79.
Retirement Ready: A Workshop for Boomers (FIN E35-01) offers an individualized plan for those considering retirement. Single-session course meets 6:30 – 9:30 p.m., Monday, July 14, at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave., Evanston. Course fee is $30.
Tapas (HEC S16-31) demonstrates how to make delicious Spanish appetizers. Single-session course meets 7 – 9 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, at Dream Cakes. Course fee is $79.
Woodcarving (ART W04-32) teaches the craft of wood sculpting. Two-session course culminates with the creation of a small project using learned skills. All supplies are included. Class meets 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, starting July 15, at Evanston Township High School. Course fee is $50.
Other available classes include: Bartending Certification (BAR T01-34), Fabric Arts (ART W03-32), and Polymer Clay Sculpting (ART W01-31).
