Oakton Courses Examine the Fine Arts

Poetry and modern theater are on tap in two March courses offered by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.

The Romantic Poets: The Sons (HUM B42-71) looks at the "second generation" of Romantic poets from England, including Lord Byron, John Keats, and Percy Bysshe Shelley. Four-week course meets 2:45 - 4:15 p.m., Tuesday, starting March 4. Course fee is $50.

Six Plays (EGL E98-01) examines six of the hottest plays to hit the stages of Chicago and New York. The aesthetic and sociopolitical values of each work will be discussed. Six-week course meets 1 - 3 p.m., Thursday, starting March 6. Course fee is $70.
