Oakton Emeritus Spotlights the Blues

Learn about the blues, an extraordinary American musical phenomenon, in the following Emeritus Program series at Oakton Community College.

The Blues (MUS B01-91) presents the stories and music of this unique genre. Series consists of four lectures: "The Bayou and the Blues;" "From the Country to the City;" "From the Bar to the Folk Club;" and "Harmonica Blues." Four-week course meets Thursdays, 10 - 11:15 a.m., starting June 8, at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.

Enroll in the entire series for $40, or attend individual sessions for $15 each.

Oakton's Emeritus Program offers credit and noncredit courses, lectures, seminars, and tours, while providing a chance to share learning experiences with peers age 50 and over.
