Spring is a busy time at the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College. These courses meet at Oakton’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.
Bridge (REC S60-71) teaches the basics of this popular card game. Course is taught by an instructor with 14 years of playing experience. Eight-week course meets 2:30 – 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, starting March 10. Course fee is $130.
The Cozies – British Lady Mystery Writers (HUM B51-71) investigates four leading whodunit novelists – Dorothy Sayers, Agatha Christie, Patricia Wentworth, and Ngaio Marsh. Four-week course meets 3 – 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, starting March 10. Course fee is $60.
Beginning Hatha Yoga (PED S10-72) demonstrates how to practice stretching, breathing, and relaxation techniques from an instructor certified by the Himalayan Institute. Students are asked to bring a small pillow and a mat or towel to class. Six-week course meets 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, starting March 11. Course fee is $72.
Treasures of Turkey (ART H16-71) offers a look at the cultural treasures of one of the great cradles of civilization. Learn about Turkey’s varied landscape and impressive mosques, palaces, and museums. Course meets 1 – 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 11. Course fee is $20.
