Emeritus Program.
Drawing
and Painting (ART C80-61) allows students at any skill level to
explore and apply the principles of drawing and painting. Eight-week
class meets Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., starting Oct. 19,
at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. Course
fee is $110.
The
African American Experience on Stage (HUM B3-61) examines culturally
observant plays including: A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine
Hansberry; For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide by
Ntzoke Shange; Fences by August Wilson; No Place to Be Somebody
by Charles Gordone; and The American Play by Susan Lori Parks.
Five-week course meets Thursdays, 1 - 3 p.m., starting Oct. 20, at
Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus. Course fee is $60.
The
Art of Aging: Understanding Change as Growth (PSY C28-61) discusses
non-physical changes related to aging including: our relationship
with ourselves and others; our attachment to material possessions;
our desire for social interaction; and our feelings about youth and
aging. Four-week course meets Thursdays, 10 - 11:30 a.m., starting
Oct. 20, at the C.G. Jung Center, 1567 Maple Ave., Evanston. Course
fee is $40.
Oakton's
Emeritus Program offers credit and noncredit courses, lectures, seminars,
and tours, while providing a chance to share learning experiences
with peers age 50 and over.
