Oakton Courses Focus on Recreation, Art, and Fiction

Recreation, art, and mysteries are the focus of courses offered by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College in March. Featured courses meet at Oakton's Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.

Bridge (REC S60-71) teaches the basics of this popular game of skill and chance. Eight-week course meets 2:30 - 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, starting March 11. Course fee is $130.

Bridge II (REC S67-71) allows casual players to upgrade their skills. Course focuses on bidding, declarer play, and defense. Eight-week course meets 12 - 2 p.m., Tuesday, starting March 11. Course fee is $130.

Glorious Greece: Art, History and Myth (ART H05-71) examines the magnificent artwork of Greek and Roman myths found throughout the world's museums and galleries. Three-week course meets 10 - 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, starting March 12. Course fee is $40.

Mysterious Travel III (HUM B29-71) explores the popularity of the mystery novel and the use of fiction to better understand other cultures. Eight-week course meets 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Friday, starting March 14. Course fee is $90.
