Enroll in Fitness or Film Courses at Oakton

Enroll in fitness or film courses offered by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College starting in April. Featured courses meet at Oakton's Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.

Tai Chi (PED E30-73) teaches peaceful exercise techniques and is best practiced in loose clothing and stocking feet, or comfortable flat shoes. Six-week course meets 1:15 - 2:15 p.m., Monday, starting April 14. Course fee is $72.

Advanced Tai Chi (PED E31-72) further challenges students to enhance their level of awareness and relaxation. Advanced Tai Chi is best practiced in loose clothing and stocking feet. Six-week course meets 12 - 1 p.m., Monday, starting April 14. Course fee is $72.

The Legend of John Ford (HUM B46-71) examines the life and works of the inspirational Academy Award-winning director. Films to be screened and discussed include: Stagecoach (1939), The Grapes of Wrath (1940), How Green Was My Valley (1941), and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962). Six-week course meets 9:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m., Friday, starting April 18. Course fee is $100.
