Oakton Emeritus Program Offers Historical Classes

Travel back to ancient Rome in a unique class offered by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College.

Suetonius: Lives of the Caesars (HIS C20-61) examines selections from the works of the second century Roman historian, Suetonius. In his writings, Suetonius focuses on the biographies of Julius Caesar and his many successors including Augustus, Tiberius, Gaius Caligula, Claudius, and Nero. Four-week seminar meets 10 - 11:30 a.m., Thursdays, starting Aug. 25, at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $50.

Oakton's Emeritus Program offers credit and noncredit courses, lectures, seminars, and tours, while providing a chance to share learning experiences with peers age 50 and over.
