Oakton Offers New Classes at a New Location



The Oakton Community College Emeritus Program takes its show "on the road" with the introduction of two new classes at the Seventh Heaven Coffee House, 4909 Oakton St., Skokie.

American Foreign Policy 2003 (POL B11-91) takes a critical look at American foreign policy in a changing world. The four-week class is taught by Jim Kenney, executive director of Common Ground, an adult study center focusing on critical issues of the time. Topics include "Foreign Policy: Unilateralism vs. Multilateralism," "Agenda on the Right: The Plan for a New American Century," "Peace in the Middle East," and 'Globalization: Top-Down or Bottom-Up." The class meets from 10 to 11:15 a.m. on Thursdays, May 1 - 22. The course fee is $45.

Adventures of the Soul (PHL E50-91) explores the stories and symbols that affect the spiritual lives of people every day. Taught by Douglas Gillette, an author and renowned scholar in the fields of comparative mythology and religion, the six-week class meets from 1:30 to
3 p.m. on Thursdays, May 1 - June 5. The course fee is $35.
