Music, literature, and the death penalty are among the topics covered during Passages, the popular lecture series offered by the Oakton Community College Emeritus Program. The six-week series meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 17 - April 21, at the Des Plaines campus (Room 1604), 1600 E. Golf Road.The fee to attend is $20 for in-district residents age 60 and over, and $25 for out-of-district residents and those under 60.
Join Karol Verson of Oakton's theater department for a discussion of the minimalist drama "Waiting for Godot," and the world's response to its maverick author, in "Beckett's 'Waiting for Godot'" (March 17). Other topics include "The Death Penalty," a review of the pros and cons of new legislation to abolish the death penalty in Illinois (March 24) and "A Legacy That Keeps Living," which presents strategies for self-reflection (March 31).
