Oakton Emeritus Program Offers Summer Variety

Increase your knowledge of computers, art, and music by enrolling in summer courses offered by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College.

Computer Maintenance 101 (DPR F01-91) teaches computer troubleshooting techniques. Single-week course meets 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Monday, July 14, at Oakton’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave. Course fee is $20.

What Is a Masterpiece? (ART D08-91) presents the concepts behind paintings, sculpture, and architecture that are regarded as works of art. Students are encouraged to suggest their own examples. Single-session course meets 1 – 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, at Oakton’s Skokie campus. Course fee is $20.

The Four Great Romantic Violin Concertos (MUS E11-92) provides insight into the lives and music of Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky. Four-week course meets 1 – 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, starting July 16, at Covenant Village, 2625 Techny Road, Northbrook. Course fee is $60.
