Intermediate
ESL students who have difficulty reading English are encouraged to
enroll in free summer reading classes sponsored by Oakton Community
College's Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL).
The purpose
of these free reading classes is to develop reading and writing skills
for personal or employment purposes, and students may discuss their
goals and needs with a counselor at registration. These are not ESL
classes. Classes are funded by the Illinois Community College Board,
the Office of the Secretary of State, and the Illinois State Library.
Free
reading classes start June 16 and meet at various times and locations.
Registration
for evening classes will be held:

June 14
6:45 - 8:45 p.m., Niles Public Library, 6960 Oakton St., Niles; and
Northbrook Public Library, 1201 Cedar Lane, Northbrook.
Tuesday,
June 15
6:45 - 9 p.m., Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood St., Des
Plaines.
