Intermediate
ESL students seeking to improve their reading skills can still enroll
in free day and evening classes at eight convenient suburban locations
through Oakton Community College's Alliance for Lifelong Learning.
Enrollment
is open for reading classes at Northbrook Public Library, 1201 Cedar
Lane, and North Suburban YMCA, 2705 Techny Road, Northbrook. Classes
also are offered at Oakton's Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.;
Skokie Public Library; Niles Public Library; Des Plaines Public Library;
Lincolnwood Public Library and Golf Mill Shopping Center.
Classes
run for 11 weeks starting the week of Sept. 20, but late enrollment
is permitted. The purpose of these free reading classes is to develop
