Several new classes offered by Oakton's Emeritus program begin soon at the Ray Hartstein Campus.
- The Chinese American Experience (HIS E65-61, Touch-Tone 05096) explores China and its culture, inventions and ancestor worship. A great way to expand your horizons. 2:30-4 p.m., three Thursdays, beginning Nov. 11
Course fee: $40- Ancient Egyptian Law & Ethics, Part II (PHL E42-61, Touch-Tone 05102) focuses on the laws and ethics, and the court system of the New Kingdom and later periods. Specific legal cases will be examined in detail.
2:30-4 p.m., six Tuesdays, beginning Nov. 6
Course fee: $80- Cleopatra (PHL E43-61, Touch-Tone 05103) explores the rise and fall of the famed queen.
2:30-4 p.m., four Thursdays, beginning Nov. 8
Course fee: $60- Leave Your Baggage Behind (PSY C07-61, Touch-Tone 05207) examines four types of emotional "baggage" and teaches how to make positive changes in your life.
12:30-2 p.m., four Mondays, beginning Oct. 15
Course fee: $50
In-district students age 60 and older pay half the listed fee. A registration fee of $5 is required for students under 60 and those who live out-of-district. Persons who have registered for Oakton or ALL classes within the last five years and have a correct Social Security number on file may register using the Touch-Tone phone registration system.
