Audition for 'Jenny Chow' at Oakton
Open auditions for the Performing Arts at Oakton production of The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow are scheduled 6 - 9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3 and Thursday, Oct. 4, at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
Written by Rolin Jones, The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow focuses on the life of an agoraphobic 20-something who re-engineers obsolete missile components for the U.S. Army from her bedroom. When Jenny becomes interested in meeting her birth mother in China, she uses her technological genius to create a new form of human contact.
The director is casting two Asian-American females to play in their 20s, one female 40 to 50 years old, and three males 20 to 50 years old. Actors should prepare a contemporary comedic monologue less than two minutes in length. Cold readings from the script also will be heard.
The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow will be presented Nov. 29 - Dec. 2 and Dec. 6 - 9, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus.
