A
series of Tuesday night seminars on vital political and social topics
- from money and gender issues to the war in Iraq - will be held throughout
October at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
Sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, the
seminars are free and open to the public.
The DVD screening and discussion series features "Gender and
Power in Relationships" (Oct. 17, 6:30 p.m., Room 1550);
"The Iraq War and its Consequences in the Middle East"
(Oct. 31, 6:30 p.m., Room 1550); "Money Talks: Lobbyists and
the Power of Money in Washington" (Nov. 14, 6:30 p.m., Room
1550); and "Lessons Learned from my Grandfather Mohandas Gandhi"
(Dec. 5, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., Room 1608).
