Course Planning Help for All Oakton Students

Traditional students and adult learners alike seeking help in planning their educational careers are invited to take advantage of these summer advising and orientation workshops at Oakton Community College.

Recent high school graduates may attend a New Traditional Age Student Advising Orientation workshop to discuss their assessment test results, plan a program of study, select first semester courses, and register for classes.

New Traditional Age Student Advising Orientation workshops will be held at the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road, on Tuesday, July 13, 1 - 3 p.m.; Tuesday, July 20, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.; Tuesday, July 27, 3 - 5 p.m.; Wednesday, July 28, 1 - 3 p.m.; Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1 - 3 p.m.; Wednesday, Aug. 4, 3 - 5 p.m.; and Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1 - 2:30 p.m. Workshops at the Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Avenue, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 17, 1 - 3 p.m.; and Thursday Aug. 19, 3 - 5 p.m.

Adult students may attend Adult Student Advising workshops to learn Oakton's registration policies and procedures, as well as receive help in choosing appropriate courses.

New Adult Student Advising workshops will be held at the Des Plaines campus on Tuesday, July 13, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.; Thursday, July 29, 6 - 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Aug. 3, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.; Thursday, Aug. 12, 6 - 8 p.m.; and Monday Aug. 16, 6 - 8 p.m. Workshops at the Skokie campus will be held Tuesdays, July 20, 6 - 8 p.m., and Aug. 10, 6 - 8 p.m.
