Join 'History Channel' Host on Oakton Alaska Cruise

Join Steve Thomas, host of The History Channel series, Save Our History, on a seven-day study/travel Alaskan cruise offered by Oakton Community College. This year's tour departs on Aug. 10, 2006.

On the way to Juneau, the capital of Alaska, Thomas will screen and discuss a program about the Aleutian Islands. Upon arrival, visit the state's oldest Russian Orthodox church, St. Nicolas, or take a trip to the famed Mendenhall Glacier. Head into beautiful Glacier Bay and see the large sheets of snow and ice whose retreat over two centuries has sculpted a 65-mile long fjord. At the seaside town of Sitka, experience a veritable crossroads of Native American and Russian cultures. Don't miss the world's largest collection of totem poles at Ketchikan.
