Museum of Art at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road,
hosts the 2007 Annual Collegiate Artists Competition on Saturday,
May 5.
The competition is designed to display the outstanding artistic skills
of students from Illinois public and private two-year and four-year
colleges and universities. A reception starts at 3 p.m., with the
awards ceremony scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
Fifty-one
student finalists from schools including Eastern Illinois University,
Dominican University, Western Illinois University, and Northeastern
Illinois University have been selected to display their paintings,
drawings, sculpture, ceramics, and prints. Finalists will display
their work at the KMA through Thursday, June 21.
The competition is presented by Oakton Community College, the Illinois
Board of Higher Education, the Office of the Governor, and the state's
higher education community.
The Koehnline Museum of Art is open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday through
Friday, and 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturdays. For more information, call
