Visit
Southeast Asia on an exotic two-week travel/study tour sponsored by
Oakton Community College. Trip departs Sunday, Nov. 4.
Renowned
for some of the world's finest archeological sites, Southeast Asia
offers an array of ancient treasures. View the exquisite Khmer and
Hindu art located in the Angkor temples. Learn about the conservation
efforts in Angkor during a special session with a member of the World
Monument Fund. In Vietnam, travel to Ho Chi Minh City, home of the
bustling Binh Tay market and historic landmarks such as the Palace
of the Jade Emperor. Enhance your visit with a discussion on the impact
of foreign influence on current Vietnamese policies.
Available
at an extra cost are optional excursions to the countryside of Kanchanaburi,
made famous in the film, Bridge over the River Kwai, and
Cu Chi Tunnels, a 150-mile long network of underground passages and
rooms.
Trips
also are scheduled in 2008. For additional information, contact Bea
