Audition for 'Not About Nightingales' at Oakton
Open auditions for the Performing Arts at Oakton production of "Not About Nightingales," by Tennessee Williams, are scheduled 6 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, and Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
Inspired by the true story of a 1938 prison riot in Philadelphia County where four inmates were brutally murdered, "Not About Nightingales" was one of the first dramas penned by Williams. The director is casting all types; men to play adults in their 30s to 60s; two women to play adults in their 20s to 30s; and a woman to play an adult in her 50s or 60s. Actors will have cold readings from provided scripts.
