Virtuoso Rachel Barton Pine in Oakton Showcase
The Performing Arts at Oakton presents an intimate evening with violinist Rachel Barton Pine at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5. Pine will perform on the main stage at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
A former musical prodigy, Pine began performing at the age of 7, and has appeared as a soloist with many of the world's most prestigious orchestras. She has collaborated with famous classical music conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Erich Leinsdorf, and Placido Domingo, and shared the stage with popular rock acts such as Kansas, Sammy Hagar, and Slash (Velvet Revolver, Guns N' Roses).
Tickets are $33 for general admission; $30 for students and seniors, and $28 for group sales of 15 or more. To reserve tickets, call the Oakton Box Office at 847-635-1900. For group sales, contact Karol Verson at 847-635-2185.
