Ten players have signed National Letters of Intent to play baseball
for Oakton Community College, head coach Bill Fratto has announced.
Players
include Mid-Suburban League standouts John Leu (Wheeling High School),
Vince Saisi (Prospect High School), and Tony Pena (Elk Grove High
School). Other players include Leyden High School's Gene Lazcano,
Corey Nicholas, and Nate McGary; Foreman High School's Gary Ramos,
Alex Cotton, and Rickey Roberson; and Bobby Fratto from perennial
powerhouse Oak Park and River Forest High School.
"This
is a very talented group of players who will make an impact with our
team," said Fratto, who begins his first year at the Raiders' helm.
"This is just the beginning of a great recruiting class and I can't
wait for them to get on campus. We have our eyes on other top players
from the 2006 class who are very close to signing."
In
the 2005 baseball campaign, Oakton finished 34-20, the third year
in a row the Raiders won at least 30 games.
