Garson
Kanin's classic comedy, Born Yesterday,
will be presented Nov. 30 - Dec. 3, and Dec. 7 - 10, in Studio One
at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
Set
in Washington D.C., not long after the end of World War II, Born
Yesterday takes aim at political corruption. Harry Brock, a shady
businessman, schemes to use his girlfriend, Billie Dawn, to "pocket"
a few senators. His plan is foiled, however, when she discovers the
truth of the situation, thanks to an idealistic Capitol Hill reporter.
Performances
of Born Yesterday are 8 p.m., Fridays, Dec. 1 and 8; 8 p.m.,
Saturdays, Dec. 2 and 9; 2 p.m., Sundays, Dec. 3 and 10; and 8 p.m.,
Thursday, Dec. 7. Tickets are $10 for general admission; $8 for students
and seniors; and $6 for groups of 15 or more.
A
$5 preview performance will be staged at 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 30
and a post-show discussion will be held after the Sunday, Dec. 10
performance.
