A
series of management and marketing courses geared to busy professionals
is being offered this spring at Oakton Community College.
Starting
in March, the Career Action Series offers courses that meet evenings
and weekends, and last a maximum of eight weeks. Courses may be applied
to a degree or certificate at Oakton. The following courses meet at
Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.
Customer
Service and Satisfaction (MKT 151-050) focuses on the skills
and strategies that lead to a successful implementation of customer
service. Eight-week course meets Mondays, 6:30 - 10:15 p.m., starting
March 19.
Advanced
Public Relations and Special Events (MKT 244-050) presents
advanced perspectives of public relations. Focus is placed on the
expanding role of today's public relations professional, including
various components of integrated marketing. Eight-week course meets
Tuesdays, 6 - 10 p.m., starting March 20.
Supervisory Development (MGT 140-050) focuses on
training and development of supervisors. Eight-week course meets Thursdays,
6 - 10:15 p.m., starting March 22.
Principles
of Management (MGT 121-0W1) analyzes current business trends
and strategies. Eight-week course meets Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. - 12:20
p.m., starting March 24.
Conflict
Management (MGT 222-050) introduces a range of positive conflict
management processes, including mediation and arbitration. Seven-week
course meets Tuesdays, 6:30 - 10:20 p.m., starting March 27.
The

Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie: Advanced
Professional Selling (MKT 261-050), and Introduction
to Transportation, Warehousing, and Logistics (MGT 156-050).
