REGISTER FOR BUSINESS AND FINANCE COURSES

The Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL), the continuing education program partnered by Oakton Community College and district high schools, offers a wide selection of business and finance courses at convenient times and locations.

Market Your Small Business (BUS A79-01, Touch-Tone 07111) focuses on internal and external strategies, public relations, direct marketing skills and developing a marketing plan. This class meets from 7-10 p.m. on three Tuesdays, beginning April 3, at Maine East High School, 2601 Dempster Street, Park Ridge. The course fee is $45.

Successful Money Management (FIN E01-02, Touch-Tone 07177) introduces key concepts and practices of wise money management. Learn how to reduce tax burden, maximize investment returns and plan for future financial security. Topics include compound interest, stocks, bonds and mutual funds. Students will develop a personalized financial plan suited to their incomes, assets and objectives. This class meets from 7-9 p.m. on four Tuesdays, beginning April 3, at Glenbrook South High School, 4000 W. Lake Avenue, Glenview. The course fee is $49.

Students who have registered for Oakton or ALL classes within the last five years and have a Social Security number on file may register for these classes by using the Touch-Tone system at (847) 635-1616 or by fax at (847) 635-1448. Both methods require payment using a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover).

Other business and finance classes offered by ALL include Buying and Selling a Business from A to Z (BUS B34), Accounting I (BUS A54), Accounting II (BUS A29), Back-to-Basics Business Writing (COM E37), Debt-Free and Prosperous Living Workshop (BUS B94) and Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement (FIN E02).
