OAKTON'S ANNUAL 'BYPASS' RACE SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 15


Oakton Community College will host the 21st annual Bypass the Bypass Run on Thursday, August 15, at 7:15 p.m., at the College's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Rd.

Drawing nearly 300 competitors each year, this popular event consists of a certified two- and four-mile course around and through the College's wooded campus. Ninety percent of the race is run on pavement, with the remaining 10 percent on grass. The top three male and female runners in their respective age groups will be awarded medals. The race is a registered Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) event. All participants will receive their official individual results from DR Komputing immediately following the race.

The non-refundable entry fee is $12 if purchased before August 9, and $15 thereafter. CARA members receive a $1 discount. All Participants will receive an official Oakton Bypass the Bypass t-shirt. Refreshments will also be provided after the event.
