Oakton Hosts Free Child Car Seat Check April 15
To celebrate "The Week of the Young Child," Oakton Community College's Des Plaines campus will host a free child car seat check, 3:30 - 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 15.
The inspection will be conducted in Parking Lot C by members of Oakton's Public Safety and the Des Plaines Police Department. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more than 80 percent of infant car seats are installed incorrectly.
The Week of the Young Child, April 13-19, is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to spotlight the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
