Catskills Variety Comes to Oakton in Two Free Shows

The 1940s tradition of "Catskills cabaret" comes to Oakton Community College in July, with two free performances featuring the klezmer group, Cholent, along with variety entertainers Mottle the Magician and Noah the Juggler.

"Saturday Night in the Catskills," a tribute to the heritage of Saturday night cabaret in New York's Catskill Mountains, will be presented Monday, July 18, at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie, and Monday, July 25, in the Footlik Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines. Both shows are at 8 p.m., and admission and parking are free.

For free tickets to this event, contact Michael Adamczyk, a member of Oakton's music faculty, at 847-635-1937, or madamczy@oakton.edu.
