Teachers, practitioners, and parents of infants are invited to attend
the Ninth
Annual Infant Toddler Conference, a one-day seminar offered
7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 22, at Oakton's Des Plaines
campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.
Nancy
Balaban presents the morning keynote, "Everyday Goodbyes: Easing the
Separation Process for Infants, Toddlers, and Families." Balaban,
a more than 30-year veteran of the Bank Street College Graduate School
of Education, will share her insight into better understanding the
many emotions that surround the separation process.
In addition, 19 more workshops are available throughout the day. Seminars
include "The Growing Child - Sensory Awareness," "Food Allergy Awareness:
The True Facts," "Rock-a-bye Babies: Music, Movement, and More," "Simply
Signing: Using the Sign with Your Baby Program," and "Fussy Babies:
What to Do in Child Care."
Advance
registration is $35 and includes a box lunch. Registration after Friday,
April 14, or at the door is $45, space permitting.
