REGISTER NOW FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES IN REAL ESTATE


Whether you're a licensed salesperson, broker, or appraiser in need of continuing education credits, or a consumer looking to increase your knowledge of real estate principles and pitfalls, Oakton's Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL) has a course this spring for you.
Highlights include:

License Law/Escrow (REL E44) covers the new obligations imposed under the revised Illinois Real Estate License Act. Class meets from 9 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie; or from 9 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at the Des Plaines Campus, 1600 E. Golf Rd. Results in 3 Continuing Education (CE) credits. Course fee is $40.
Environmental Concerns in Real Estate (REL E72) provides a comprehensive look at environmental regulations affecting the real estate industry, including the Environmental Response Compensation Liability Act (CERCLA), as well as the environmental threat of asbestos, radon, and lead. Class meets from 9 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, at the Ray Hartstein Campus. Results in 3 CE credits. Course fee is $40.
Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practice (REL E82) is an introduction to the standards that govern real estate appraisal. Students will learn about ethical obligations, professionalism and competent performance of various appraisal methods and techniques. Federal and Illinois regulations will be included. Class meets from 6 - 9:45 p.m. on two Tuesdays, beginning February 26, at the Des Plaines Campus. Results in 7 CE credits. Course Fee is $40.
What Every Seller Needs to Know Before Selling a Home (REL E17) is taught by an attorney, an accountant, and a real estate broker. Get your legal, financial and general real estate questions answered during this informative seminar. Seminar meets from 7 - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Niles West High School, 5701 Oakton St., Skokie; or on Tuesday, March 19, at Glenbrook North High School, 2300 Shermer Rd., Glenview. Seminar fee is $20.
The Hidden Costs and Potential Horrors of Home Buying (REL E19) unravels the maze of secret costs and potential traps that could make buying your dream house a nightmare. Seminar meets from 7 - 10 p.m. on two Wednesdays, beginning February 27, at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Ave., Skokie; or on two Thursdays, beginning April 11, at Maine East High School, 2601 W. Dempster St., Park Ridge. Seminar fee is $49.
