Men who stay home to take care of their children can learn how to
make the transition back into the work force at the Eighth
Annual At-Home Dads Convention, Saturday, Nov. 22 at Oakton Community
College, 1600 E. Golf Road.
"Many
stay at-home dads wonder how to update their resumes after they've
spent a number of years taking care of their children," says event
organizer Robert Frank, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology at
Oakton. "This year's conference will provide at-home dads with solid
tips for getting back into the job market."
Presenters
for the At-Home Dads convention include John St. Augustine,
creator and host of "Power! Talk Radio," a nationally syndicated radio
show that empowers listeners with a renewed sense of life's possibilities,
and Chris Coby, a cancer survivor and a recent Ironman triathlon
participant. Augustine's address will focus on "This is the Time of
Your Life," and Coby's breakout session is entitled, "The Times They
Are A-Changin."
Speakers
also include Marty Josephson, founder of the e-mail discussion group
"Dads-At-Home," Steve Klem, host of AOL's "DadChat," and Peter Baylies,
founder of the At-Home Dad Newsletter. Program details may
be found at www.oakton.edu/dads.
Registration
for Oakton's At-Home Dads Convention is $55 before Oct. 21 ($75 after
