GET CONNECTED WITH OAKTON'S EMERITUS PROGRAM


Oakton Community College's Emeritus Program offers four computer and Web-related seminars this spring.

Click Here: No Experience Necessary teaches the basics of computer use for such programs as Windows Desktop, including terminology, keyboard and mouse functions. Session I (DPR, Touch-Tone 07980) meets from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on six Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 30. Session II (DPR A31-72, Touch-Tone 05558) meets from 12:30 - 3 p.m. on six Fridays, beginning April 19. The course fee for both sessions is $200.

Surf's Up teaches users how access the World Wide Web, use e-mail, and do Web searches. Session I (DPR A35-73, Touch-Tone 07983) meets from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on three Wednesdays, beginning March 6. Session II (DPR A35-73, Touch-Tone 07984) meets from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on three Fridays, beginning April 12. The course fee for both sessions is $150.

Searching, Sorting, Saving (DPR-A36-71, Touch-Tone 07986) is for beginning users who want to enhance their web-related skills, learn to use search engines, and manage information on the Web. This class meets from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. on six Thursdays, beginning Jan. 31. The course fee is $200.

Never Say, "I Don't Do Windows" is for computer users who desire to learn new skills like multitasking, creating shortcuts, and creating a file management system. Session I (DPR A33-71, Touch-Tone 07981) meets from 1 - 3:30 p.m. on six Wednesdays, beginning March 20. Session II (DPR A33-72, Touch-Tone 07982) meets from 12:30 - 3 p.m. on six Mondays, beginning Feb. 25. The course fee for both sessions is $200.
