OAKTON TO HOLD CANDIDATES FORUM FOR BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTION
The public is invited to learn more about the candidates for Oakton Community College’s Board of Trustees at a special Candidates Forum on Tuesday, March 27, from 12:30-2 p.m., in the TenHoeve Center (Room 1610) at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Free parking will be available in Parking Lot D.
Three trustees will be elected on April 3 to serve six-year terms. All candidates have been invited to participate in the forum, including Bill Handzel, Howard Tennes, William R. Stiles, George Alexopoulos, William M. Rodman, Marjorie Whitman and Maxine T. Hill.
Denis Berkson, professor and chairperson of the performing arts program at
Oakton, will moderate the forum. Candidates will make brief opening and closing
statements about their candidacies, and audience members will have the opportunity
to ask questions of any or all the candidates. The forum will be televised live
on Oakton’s cable channel and rebroadcast on Saturday, March 31, from 3-5 p.m.;
Sunday, April 1, from 7-9 p.m.; and Monday, April 2, from 3-5 p.m. Local cable
companies should be consulted for the correct channel number.
