Oakton Offers Human Genetics Course

Discover the science behind inherited human traits by enrolling in a new credit course this spring at Oakton Community College's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.

Human Genetics (BIO 104) covers issues including the ethical, legal, and social implications of gene-based medicine. Topics also include how genes influence health and behavior, and how advances in genetic technologies affect medical treatment. This IAI-approved course meets 2 - 3:15 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting Jan. 17, 2006.
