Travel to Sunny Greece on Oakton Tour

Greece, land of majestic monuments and priceless treasures from the past, is a popular destination of Oakton Community College's travel/study program. Four tours are scheduled in 2003: May 8 - 19, June 26 - July 7, Sept. 18 - 29, and Oct. 9 - 20.

The journey begins in Athens with a visit to the Parthenon and the Acropolis Museum, to view an amazing collection of archaic and classical Greek sculpture. Visitors continue on to the Archaeological Museum in Delphi, and its collection of ancient statuary.

Other stops include Olympia, the most holy place in ancient Greece and the site of the first Olympic games, as well as Sparta, Mycenae, and Corinth. An optional tour extension to cruise the Aegean Isles, with stops at Mykonos, Santorini, and Rhodes, is offered.

Throughout the trip, participants sample native dishes at specially arranged meals and learn about the everyday lives and customs of the local people. For more information, including complete itineraries and prices, call Bea Cornelissen at 847-635-1812.
