Oakton Tours the Temples of Greece

Explore the ancient civilizations of Greece on a travel/study tour sponsored by Oakton Community College. Trips in 2007 depart on Thursday, Sept. 6 and Thursday, Oct. 4.

Begin in Athens with a visit to historical sites including the Acropolis and Parthenon. Continue through Kalambaka and the mountain monasteries. Next, stop in Delphi to view the Archaeological Museum, home of the Antinoos and the Naxian Sphinx. Travel on to Olympia and explore the remains of the Temple of Zeus and the Temple of Hera. See the world famous "Hermes" by Praxiteles, and walk the Stadium of the original Olympics. Return to Athens for visits to the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, and the Temple of Theseus.
