VISIT IRELAND THIS SUMMER ON AN OAKTON TRAVEL/STUDY TOUR

Enjoy the rustic beauty and cultural richness of Ireland when you journey to the Emerald Isle on a tour sponsored by Oakton Community College's travel/study program. Two trips are scheduled in 2002: July 11 - 25, and September 12 - 26.

After arriving in Shannon, travel through County Clare to Killarney, renowned for its beautiful lakes and enchanting mountains. Visit the "Ring of Kerry," a place of breathtaking scenery and history. Sample the local cuisine as you follow the route of the River Lee to Blarney, renowned for its Castle and its Stone.

Travel along the Coast Road to Cobh, County Cork, and visit St. Colman's Cathedral and the Cobh Emigration Museum, which highlights the city's history as the point of embarkation for thousands of immigrants. A trip to the Nire Valley gives you ample opportunity to take long walks or engage in mountain climbing and enjoy an evening of lively Irish music at the Melody's Pub in Ballymacarbry.

In Dublin, visit the haunts of James Joyce and walk the streets made famous by Molly Malone. Travel through County Sligo and enjoy the magnificent views that inspired the poet W.B. Yeats.

The journey ends where it began, in Shannon, where you'll visit the Bunratty Folk Park, a living reconstruction of Ireland a hundred years ago.
